Anisa Escobedo, of Corona, has been appointed to the State Independent Living Council. Escobedo has been the Founder/CEO of Escobedo Design since 2016. Escobedo was Executive Director/CEO of Arcata Chamber of Commerce in 2022. She was an Advocacy & Outreach Specialist for Tri–County Independent Living from 2018 to 2019. Escobedo is a member of Kiwanis International. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Escobedo is a Democrat.
